2024 CD 27 DNC Delegate Election

Vote for us on Saturday, April 20, 2024

We're running to be delegates to the DNC Convention. Our Congressional District 27 has been allocated 3 female and 2 male delegates. As your delegates, we will be representing Congressional District 27 at the DNC Convention in Chicago on August 19-22, and will work closely with the Biden campaign to help reelect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, and all Democrats up and down the ballot.

The election for delegates is Saturday, April 20 from 10 am to 2 pm, and there is also an Early Vote opportunity on Thursday, April 18 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm if that works better for you.

Only registered Democrats who live in CD 27 can vote for us, so please bring an ID to the election!

Millie Herrera

A leader in the Democratic Party since 1995, Miami-Dade DEC member, one of the founders and President of the Miami-Dade Democratic Hispanic Caucus in 1997, Florida Democratic Hispanic Caucus President 2000-2004 and 2007-2009, President Obama appointee as the SE Regional Representative for the U.S. Department of Labor from 2012-2013, and delegate to every DNC Convention since 2000. Millie loves hanging out with her daughter as often as possible!

Cecilia Tavera-Webman

An active member of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party since 2008 and member of the Miami-Dade County DEC. She began her activism as a volunteer in the Obama presidential campaign. She's a board member of the Miami-Dade County Democratic Hispanic Caucus, and a board member of the Coconut Grove Democratic Club. Her husband Jeff Webman and her enjoy the frequent visits from their daughter and grandson who live in Connecticut.

Melissa Taveras

A Miami-based journalist, public relations, press secretary and communications professional with expertise in international relations, sustainability, and social causes. The insight she gained as a journalist and in the entertainment industry helped catapult her communications strategist career, managing communications and media strategies for major non-profits and in the private sector.

Juan Cuba

President of the Miami-Dade Democratic Hispanic Caucus, former Chair of the Miami-Dade Democratic Party, 2008 and 2012 Obama campaign alumni, former White House aide, and proud father of a 2 year-old boy and a 3 month-old girl.

Raul Martinez, Jr.

Member of the Miami-Dade Democratic Hispanic Caucus, has served as District Director for US Representatives Joe Garcia, Donna Shalala and now Debbie Wasserman Schultz, 2012 Obama and 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign alumni, married to Isabel for 20 years and proud father of Raul, III 18, and Lucas, 17.
